The first transnational meeting of the FACE IT project convened in Foligno, Italy, on March 4th and 5th 2024, marking a pivotal moment for the initiative aimed at bolstering sustainable farming practices across Europe. The gathering brought together all partner organizations to review initial findings and set the course for future developments.
Key discussions centered around the preliminary results gleaned from questionnaires distributed among agricultural entrepreneurs, providing valuable insights into the current environmental challenges they encounter. These insights will inform the development of a targeted curriculum designed to enhance the environmental competencies of novice farmers.
Moreover, partners shared early discoveries from their respective national and EU-level nurseries, highlighting exemplary practices that will be compiled into a comprehensive resource of best practices. These efforts aim to create replicable models that can be adapted and implemented across different regions and countries.
Looking ahead, the FACE IT project plans to leverage these foundational discussions to shape an innovative online course, integrating gamification elements to optimize learning outcomes. An online toolkit is also in development, slated to provide essential resources and support to facilitate the learning journey of participants.
As the project moves forward, FACE IT remains committed to fostering sustainable farming practices through collaborative efforts and knowledge exchange, setting a precedent for environmental stewardship in agriculture!
